Served on the Council of the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects from 1975 up to 1993 in the all capacities of Council President for the term 1989-1991 Immediate Past-President of the SLIA during the session 1991-1993 Served on the Board of Architectural Education of the SLIA for many years, and was instrumental in starting the SLIA Lecture Course leading to full professional qualifications for part-time students of architecture SLIA representative on two Visitations of the Board of examiners of the RIBA External Examiner SLIA for the M.Sc. Visiting design Tutor at M.Sc. level at the Department of Architecture at the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka from 1977 to 1983 and 1988/89 Assessor for the M.Sc. (Built Environment) dissertations at the University and continued up to session 1999 - 2000 Served on the Board of Examiners of the University during this period Nominated againin 1993 by the SLIA to serve on the RIBA visiting board to assess the Moratuwa University course Nominee of the SLIA to serve on the Visiting Board of the Royal Institute of British Architects [RIBA] in 1986, which examined the Curriculum and Educational standards of the University of Moratuwa, Department of Architecture, to consider granting it recognition as an approved School of Architecture recognised by the RIBA. The visiting board, over a five-day period, inspected a representative sample of the design work and theory papers of the students, and prepared the draft report. Lecturer in Professional studies for the Professional Practice Examination of the SLIA Part III Examination from 1981 to 1991 and an Examiner of the SLIA for the SLIA Part III Examination from 1982 to 1988, & 1990 -1991. Examiner at the SLIA Part III Lecture Course 1997 External examiner of the University assessing the final year thesis project briefs,up to session 1999-2000 Hon. Treasurer, Architects Regional Council Asia [ARCASIA] for the Session 1982-1984 when ARCASIA secretariat was in Sri Lanka.
